Helping Warriors Heal

Before we could start our program, some rehabilitation and changes had to be made to the existing buildings. We reorganized the existing large 4-bedroom residential family home into a 10 bedrooms handicapped accessible facility. 

Thanks to a lot of support from Western Carolina University, the Home Depot Foundation, Team Rubicon, the community, and area veterans groups we are  finished and welcomed our first group in June 2021. 

Down by the Tuckasegee River we have an area called “The Landing Zone.” Volunteers have built a pavilion, key-hole grill/firepit and pizza oven. The pavilion sits just 50 feet from the river bank and there are multiple areas for fishing, relaxing, and  enjoying the beautiful scenery our unique location provides.
